Muhammad received his B.Sc. (2013) and M.Sc. (2015) in chemistry from Ben-Gurion University. In 2015, he began his doctoral studies with Professor Ashraf Brik at the Technion Institute. Muhammad’s research focused on developing transition metal-based methodologies to facilitate the chemical synthesis of synthetically challenging proteins for structural and functional studies. In 2019, Muhammad joined the Department of Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Fulbright, Rothschild, and VATAT postdoctoral fellow to work under the supervision of Professor Bradley L. Pentelute. At MIT, he combined flow chemistry and organometallic palladium chemistry to develop novel bioactive macromolecules. In 2022, Muhammad joined the School of Chemistry at Tel Aviv University as a tenure-track assistant professor. The group's research is focused on developing a novel class of bioactive macromolecules for fundamental research and next-generation therapeutics.
